  • Photo's for MKfunky

Thank you all for your encouragement to get out and take more photos, but todays pics are for MK who said I should "take my camera everywhere". I haven't followed this advice as I still feel uncomfortable but I did go back indoors today on way to Sainsburys to get said camera, with MK's words ringing in my ears.

So, if you like what you're seeing, she is my muse for the day! I played around with some of the SP settings, I'm still trying to get a feel for the cameras capabilities, and I will check out all the website links shortly, but I have a few 'bits' to get done before Christmas Day dawns.

    So, here are todays pics:

I was trying to capture the cold and emptiness of the streets near my home in these two photos

Next, a rosebush that I used to walk past every day to catch the train. Both pics are from the same bush, just a slightly different angle and I think the second is with the macro setting:
Rose in ShadowCrystal Clear I can't get over the clarity of the rose and the contrast of pink against green.

The bark of this tree made me stop to capture its beauty. tree bark

That's it for now, but there are more to come from todays expedition. I've just gotta go eat! Maybe tomorrow I'll add the others on.

  • The Beach and Sea

Well you already know its a love of mine. This morning I walked hubby to work and carried on down to the sea. The sun was up but it was still quite misty and felt much earlier than 8.30 in the morning. The sea was quite rough and it amused me just to watch it, take it all in, before snapping. Sadly my batteries and the cameras focus died after taking these.

    It really did feel early
    Early Sun
possibly a little out of focus? and too much sun?

I was reminded me of the scene in 'City of Angels' where angels dressed in black watch the dawn breaking on the beach.

this cheeky chappy turned to face me almost daring me to snap him, so I did.

Encapsulating the power of the sea and the freedom of the birds.

My shadow tickled me, it looked as though my shadow wore stilts.

More waves on a washed clean beach

And a long view of the pier.

So, hope you like, I certainly do, these are what I would consider my 'better'shots.

  • Sea and Stones

I love walking and cycling along the sea front near my house. All my cares are blown away and I am always stunned by how beautiful and powerful the sea is.

I loved the way the birds were lined up on the posts of this groyne. It looked as though they were on guard duty and the sea was sparkling as the sun sunk lower.

I couldn't get in close enough to get any detail to this crow.

It was quite choppy when I took this one. I kept missing the big waves breaking.

This was the best I could get.

On this I loved the way the sunlight filtered through the clouds and the contrast with the crows nesty thing. The mans silhouette was quite cool too, but unintentional.

A backward glance as we left the sea front made me turn around and take this pic then just stop to watch the sun go down.

I have still to read the camera manual so I hope to get some even better sunsets soon but I am pretty happy with these few pics.
